Travels

This page is for eliminating the fluff. This is all about destinations and my experiences during travel.

Thus far, my travel styles are defined by the company I keep:

  1. As a solo traveler, I join small group birding/wildlife tours,
  2. When traveling with a friend or for work, I’m usually exploring the food, culture, and history of cities and surrounding areas, and
  3. When traveling with my partner, I’m usually exhausting myself on mountain trails and hoping I don’t fall into a canyon. This is only a slight exaggeration.

And so that is how you’ll find my travel posts categorized into the three pages below. No matter which path I’ve taken, I always come back with fond memories and new plans for the future. These entries are a reflection of exactly that – either meanderings down Memory Lane or the unrestrained excitement for a future destination. I hope you enjoy these journeys along with me!

Being prone to distractions and random thoughts, it’s pretty hard to categorize all my feelings and observations

It’s not as if travel is always exciting. Anyone who has been stuck inside the Rio de Janeiro airport for a long layover can attest to extreme boredom during travel.

It’s not as if travel is always fun. There’s luggage to lose, reservations to make, budgets to consider. Swarms of bees. All sorts of important details, before or during a trip, can be more angst-inducing than we’d like.

And so I’m sure it will be true that, at some point, I will post some lengthy treatise about inane details or petty distractions, e.g., packing advice, birding gear, random observations, or just any seemingly harmless trend that prompts me to rant incessantly.

And although my actual rants can sometimes relate to things as mundane as comma usage, I swear to never post anything about comma usage here!

“Hope” is the thing with feathers

This site is a new adventure – a work in progress. The content may be sparse, but it will grow as more entries are posted.
